Game Dev Challenge – Imagined by NEOM

Organizer: Game Dev Challenge – Imagined by NEOM and Maysalward (collectively, the “Event Administrator”)

By registering for, participating in, submitting content to, or attending the Game Dev Challenge – Imagined by NEOM (the “Challenge”), you (“Participant”, “You”, or “Your”) confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions.

1. Eligibility

1. Participation is open to individuals and teams worldwide, subject to local laws and regulations.

2. Participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of entry. Participants under 18 may only participate with written parental or legal guardian consent.

3. Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of the Event Administrator may be restricted from participation at the sole discretion of the Event Administrator.

4. The Event Administrator reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time.

2. Registration & Participation

1. Participants must complete official registration through the Challenge’s authorized platform.

2. Providing false, misleading, or incomplete information may result in disqualification.

3. Participants agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and event rules throughout the Challenge.

3. Submission Requirements

1. All submitted projects, games, assets, and materials (“Submissions”) must be original work created by the Participant or their registered team.

2. Submissions must not:

   • Infringe upon any intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of any third party

   • Contain unlawful, defamatory, offensive, or harmful content

3. Participants are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions, licenses, and rights for any third-party materials used in their Submissions.

4. The Event Administrator reserves the right to remove or disqualify any Submission that violates these Terms.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

1. Ownership:
   Participants retain full ownership of all intellectual property rights in their Submissions.

2. License to the Event Administrator and NEOM:
   By submitting any content, Participants grant the Event Administrator and NEOM a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, and perpetual license to:

   • Use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, distribute, display, and publicly perform the Submissions

   • For purposes including, but not limited to:

     • Event operations

     • Marketing and promotion

     • Public showcases and exhibitions

     • Media, press, and documentary purposes

     • Educational and community development initiatives

No additional compensation is guaranteed or implied for such usage.

5. Media Usage & Promotional Rights

By uploading, submitting, or sharing any media (including but not limited to images, videos, gameplay footage, audio, presentations, or written content), you expressly agree that your media may be used for promotional and marketing purposes by the Event Administrator and by event attendees who download the media.

Such use may include, without limitation:

• Digital and physical advertising

• Social media and online marketing

• Event recap videos

• Press campaigns and public relations

• Exhibitions, showcases, and conferences

You waive any right to inspect or approve the final promotional materials created using such media.

6. Judging & Awards

1. Submissions will be evaluated based on the official judging criteria published by the Event Administrator.

2. All judging decisions are final and binding.

3. The Event Administrator reserves the right to:

   • Disqualify any Participant found in violation of these Terms

   • Withhold or reassign prizes as deemed necessary

4. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash unless explicitly stated.

7. Code of Conduct

Participants agree to:

• Conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner

• Refrain from harassment, abuse, discrimination, cheating, or sabotage

• Comply with all event safety, security, and platform policies

Violations may result in immediate disqualification.

8. Data Protection & Privacy

1. Personal data will be collected and processed solely for purposes related to:

   • Event operations

   • Communications

   • Reporting and promotional activities

2. Data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

3. The Event Administrator will not sell Participant data to unauthorized third parties.

9. Liability & Indemnification

1. Participation is at the Participant’s own risk.

2. The Event Administrator, NEOM, sponsors, and partners shall not be liable for:

   • Technical failures

   • Data loss

   • System errors

   • Force majeure events

3. Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Event Administrator, NEOM, and all affiliated entities from any claims, liabilities, damages, or legal costs arising from:

   • Their Submissions

   • Violation of these Terms

   • Infringement of third-party rights

10. Disqualification

The Event Administrator reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who:

• Violates these Terms & Conditions

• Submits fraudulent or plagiarized content

• Engages in unethical or disruptive behavior

• Attempts to manipulate judging or competition processes

Disqualification decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

11. Modification, Suspension & Termination

1. The Event Administrator may amend, suspend, or cancel the Challenge at any time without prior notice.

2. Updated Terms will be published through official channels and take immediate effect upon publication.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Any disputes arising from or related to the Challenge shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Saudi courts.

13. Acceptance of Terms

By participating in the Game Dev Challenge – Imagined by NEOM, you confirm that:

• You have read and fully understood these Terms & Conditions

• You legally agree to be bound by them

• You accept the intellectual property and media usage provisions in full
